Philanthropy + Development

Abhaya Global's network includes representatives in government, leaders of NGOs, human rights workers, slum-dweller representatives, health care workers, and many others whose missions are analogous with Abhaya Global's vision. It is Abhaya's belief that giving back to communities is a way of life and therefore AGL gives 20% of net profits towards its Corporate Social Responsibility Initiatives:

The Carol A. Breckenridge Fund

One of Abhaya Global's early supporters, Dr. Carol A. Breckenridge, passed away in October 2009 after her long battle with breast cancer. As mother, wife, and friend to Abhaya's founders, she believed deeply in AGL's mission. In her memory, Abhaya Global is in the process of setting up the Carol A. Breckenridge Fund to support Women's Initiatives, Breast Cancer Research, and the Arts.

PUKAR

Abhaya Global is proud to support PUKAR, a Mumbai-based organization founded by Abhaya Global's Senior Advisor, Dr. Arjun Appadurai. PUKAR's mandate is to empower the urban and rural poor by giving them the skills to educate themselves regarding challenges and problems they face in their own communities, rather than simply being reliant on outside organizations for help and solutions. PUKAR's model is already demonstrably successful in Mumbai, India and is applicable throughout the world. For more information please see the PUKAR website at www.pukar.org.in.

Yoga/Wellness Center

In a joint venture with the Kinglake-Lerner family, Abhaya Global will be opening a yoga retreat center outside of Barcelona, Spain. Abhaya Shala aims to be operational by spring 2015.
